Steven Perezluha takes 3rd place!
First Green Bank congratulates Steven Perezluha – the young cyclist sponsored by our bank, and also mentored by CEO Ken LaRoe – for his 3rd place finish yesterday in the U-23 USA Cycling Time Trial National Championship in Madison, Wisconsin. This is a very impressive accomplishment. Ken, who is with Steven this week in support (and also shares Steven’s passion for cycling), is confident that Steven will now be picked up by a professional cycling team – which is, of course, Steven’s dream. Ken has played a big role in Steven’s life over the past few years in helping him get to where he is, as more than just a sponsor but also as a mentor and friend.
A quote from Steven yesterday (seen on the podium in all black, on the right of the posted picture):
"Finished 3rd place in the U23 National Time Trial… Huge thanks to Ken LaRoe for all your support... Thanks to coach Bob Tyler for prepping me to my fullest potential. Thanks to all of my sponsors including Compass Research, First Green Bank, BikeRayUSA, MILA, pHit Pills, As-Master, Deland Bakery, Oakwood Smokehouse, and Smart Bike Parts. The wait is over and now time to move on to bigger accomplishments!"
Way to go, Steven! We're proud of you (not only for your many cycling accomplishments, but also for being a kind of person with whom we are proud to be associated because of your values and commitment to also be a good steward of this precious Earth that we all share)! We're happy to be part of your team which not only includes our friends: Compass Research; Deland Bakery; and Oakwood Smokehouse... but also, of course, your family and close friends.
Steven’s third and final race of the 2013 national championships, a 60 km Criterium, is Sunday at 7pm. Feel free to join us in wishing him continued success.
